Why it might feel like your blonde is fading…

It’s actually not, BUT many factors can make your hair appear dull. Here’s some of the most common ones:

  • You’re overusing your purple shampoo and conditoner. The sulfates in your shampoo build up and can dull color. Try a cleansing shampoo like the Oribe The Cleanse Clarifying Shampoo to eliminate buildup.

  • You have hard water. Hard water mineral deposits can also build up and strip color from your hair. Use a hard water filter on your shower head for a brighter look.

  • You’re using too much heat. Hair that’s been lightened should never be exposed to heat over 380 degrees. Make sure you also use a heat protectant. We love Oribe’s Gold Lust Heat Protectant Spray.

  • You’re washing your hair wrong. Washing too often or using products that aren’t safe for color treated hair can also contribute to blonde fading.

  • Summer is here which most likely means chlorine. Chlorine can mess with lightened hair so be sure to get your hair wet before jumping in the pool. You can also apply a leave-in conditioner a few times a week.
